Install WatchMaxTV on Android TV

Android TV devices (Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV, Mi Box, Onn and most Android TV-branded smart TVs) offer the most flexibility for IPTV playback. This guide works on Android TV 10 and newer.

Step-by-step installation

Step 1. Allow unknown sources

Open Settings → Device Preferences → Security & Restrictions. Enable Unknown Sources for the Downloader app (we will install it next).

Step 2. Install Downloader

In the Google Play Store search for Downloader by AFTV News and install it.

Step 3. Fetch the player APK

Open Downloader and enter the short URL we send on WhatsApp. Install the APK when prompted.

Step 4. Open the player

Launch IPTV Smarters Pro (or Tivimate, depending on the APK we provided).

Step 5. Enter your credentials

Choose Load Your Playlist or Xtream Codes API and paste the server URL, username and password.

Step 6. Finalize

Download the EPG, pin the app to the home row, and you are done.

Troubleshooting the five most common issues

Nothing loads after entering credentials

Double-check the server URL has no trailing slash and that the username is copied without leading spaces. WhatsApp us if it still fails; we can reset the credentials in under a minute.

Buffering or stuttering

Run a speed test on the same device. 15 Mbps is the minimum for HD; 25+ Mbps for 4K. Restart your router. Wired Ethernet beats Wi-Fi every time.

EPG shows blank

The guide can take up to two minutes to download on first launch. If still blank, close the app fully and reopen.

Black screen on some channels

Some channels are geo-restricted by the upstream source. Try another channel in the same category — if most work, it is the stream, not your setup.

App crashes on launch

Clear the app cache (Settings → Apps). If that fails, reinstall the APK / app and re-enter credentials.
